Transfer shopping cart to a new server

Hi Community,
couple weeks ago my [new] developer transferred my shopping cart into a new server. After immigration it seems that functions in the admin (store design changes, newly created webpages, deleting images from Image Manager, sending order confirmation email to customers, etc) not working. I asked my developer if there is any way to correct all of them without visit every function in the admin and his answer was negative.

So I am asking the community if there is any routine to go through in order to fix all faulty functions. I believe that problem is most likely folder permissions. So is there any of you experienced this problem? Is there any list of folders that I should check if they have the right permissions?

thanks in advance,
Stam.

Hi Stam,

First port of call is the Admin control panel > Add Ons > Check Store Permissions
... as that will help identify the most obvious culprits.

In terms of functionality on things like emails:
- check your SMTP settings under "Store Settings" > Email settings (section)

That should cover most of it...

What I'm not sure about is what exact permission to apply for the above. This is because I have recently read an article mentioning that Interspire shopping cart forces poor permissions on config.php
http://packetstormsecurity.org/files/11 ... secure.txt

thank you,
Stam.

Hi Community,
I have changed 'config' file's permission from 755 to 775 but still get same message 'The config is not writable. Please CHMOD it to 757 or 775 or 777' when I run "Check Store Permissions" add on..
