ISC Starter - Inventory???

Post by jvilla »

So I just purchased the Starter package and overlooked the fact that it has no inventory control. Anyone have a mod for this or should I take the 60 day money back refund?

How can a eShop not have that built in. I'm not talking about some super advanced inventory control system but a simple box to input product quantities!

You can pay the price difference if you ask 'em nicely. Alternatively, go for a full refund and wait for v6 - that would be my preferred option for new builds.

Version 6 Starter has inventory control? If that's the case then I'll wait.

I host all my sites with Media Temple, they're second to none!

Thanks for your responses!

Why? - the guy/gal is trying to start! .. with the least amount of expense to see if the site can be succsessful in the first place - why would he/she consign himself to a monthly charge?

That's an odd reply from you martin

Are you still using Media Temple? I was thinking about switching to their dv plan. It's a bit expensive $50 a month and for $20 more you can take snapshots of your VM which would give me peace of mind during upgrades etc. What plan are you on?

Didn't spot this until now so apologies for late reply... The reason for my suggestion wasn't flippant but more a recognition that BC offers the same (or similar) functionality as ISC Enterprise at minimal cost for a small startup. There's no minimum period to worry about and it gives you a chance to kick the tyres, see what you need or don't and then to compare what you get with BC vs' the different ISC versions.

If the goal is to start learning the ropes with the ISC code that's a different ball game and Starter is the place to go but it does mean that a good deal of the useful functionality is hobbled (eg: inventory tracking)...

Hopefully the above explains why rather than it still being considered "odd".
