It looks like Interspire is switching from Get Satisification to self-hosted forum software. http://www.bigcommerce.com/ecommerce-bl ... ity-forum/

I doubt the reasons they gave had anything to do with why they switched. My guess is that they wanted more control over the posts and users. It looks like you have to have a BC account to even use it now.

Why does it have to be separate from the ISC forum is my question. Lots of the categories have to do with Ecommerce in general.

More like the illegitimate spawn from a drunken affair with the bar maid one long, cold winters night, that they'd rather forget.

As for all the "love in" comments on that blog... frankly one surprises me in particular but either way, here's my comments where they won't be deleted..

With reference to: Announcing Our New Marketing & Community Forum!
Mitch, It's frustrating that you keep switching horses to a new "toy" every time the old one loses its shine for your marketing machine and especially when the complaints start to roll in. You need to stop tossing out the baby with the bathwater and start practising what you preach by actually addressing the user input on getSatisfaction... The space is replete with "solved" threads that are anything but, which is a failing on your part, and nothing to do with the toolset that getSatisfaction offers. Just look at the requests and enthusiasm for things like shipping service, eBay and other integrations.

Until you actually start dealing long term with these issues and stop bigging up the next new "Wow!" thing, you are never going to have a long term customer base that believe the promises and hype when the reality falls short time after time.

Oh and the reason the community feel never got there was because the whole thing was dropped like a scalding hot potato the moment the reality set in and people started complaining and getting annoyed. Hardly getSatisfactions fault... It's like blaming a hammer for hitting your thumb.

Looks like it's already deleted. At least they are quick at something.

Criticism and dissent disappear quickly. Spam lingers. (Or so it seems.)
